Born in Durban - KwaZulu Natal and still loving the place :)
No formal art training - just picked up the tools one day and carved my first Dragon. Haven’t stopped since.
Wood is the most delightful medium to work with - the colours that appear when
the carving is sanded and sealed are totally hectic.
My Scots ancestry plays a huge role in my love of “The Wee Folk” and their habitat.
My carving are usually a mass of leaves and intricate old trees - fern lined ponds and whimsical faces
peering out of the foliage.
My Studio is large bright and airy. There are normally around 4 to 5 carvings at various stages of completion. Whilst working on one I will figure the difficulties experienced with the other.
It’s also a right brained tendency to become bored with just one task really :)
